When you purchase Scrip you are purchasing gift certificates that are used just like cash. Scrip can be used for everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and the best part is that with every purchase, NSA earns valuable rebates from participating vendors, which will benefit all of our students. Not only will you earn volunteer hours by using Scrip gift certificates to purchase items you would normally buy (i.e. groceries), but you will also be benefiting our students by earning NSA revenue on your purchases. If you have family members in the area, they too are welcome to participate in Scrip and earn volunteer hours for your family! To purchase Scrip:
To order online : Go to www.shopwithscrip.com and set up an account. Click on 'not a member', and follow the instructions using NSA's enrollment code #C344BC7213368. To help you set up the account, and to assist you with the online ordering process Scrip has a tutorial that we have posted on the NSA website (www.nstaracademy.org / Volunteer Central / Scrip / scroll down to 'Scrip Tutorial'. In addition, click here for a 'quick start' document in at the back of this handbook. The ordering process is as follows:
* Log in at www.shopwithscrip.com and Click 'Shop'
* Choose your Vendor and Gift Card Amount and 'Add to Cart'
* Checkout, Choose a Payment Option (pay online via 'Presto Pay' (see below) OR write a check made payable to NSA Scrip ), AND Confirm Your Order (send Order Confirmation Page with your student to school (along with check if applicable) BEFORE delivery)

Ordering Deadlines - You will need to have your online order in by Thursday at NOON to be delivered by the following Wednesday.
Presto-Pay - This is a convenient way for you to pay for your order online. With Presto-Pay your payment will be electronically deducted from your checking account, and GLSC (SCRIP) will accept your payment and forward to NSA to pay for your order.
Once you have successfully enrolled, and verified your bank account information you will have the option of paying for your order with Presto-Pay. When you choose Presto-Pay, they will debit your checking account for the face value amount of your order, plus a small convenience fee of $0.39, and hold that payment until NSA releases our combined order to GLSC. You can still pay for Scrip via check (even after signing up for Presto-Pay), and will have the option to select your payment type each time you order during the check-out process. If you pay for your order with Presto-Pay, and your payment is returned or rejected for any reason, we will:
* CANCEL your order if it has not been released by your coordinator, OR
* If your order has been released by NSA, they will CHARGE NSA for the face value of your order, PLUS A BANK CHARGE OF $30.00. You will then owe NSA that full amount. NORTH STAR ACADEMY WILL ALSO CHARGE ANOTHER $20 BANK CHARGE FEE FOR A TOTAL OF $50.00, and you may no longer use Presto-Pay.
Volunteer Hours Earned
* For every $100 of Scrip purchased, you will receive credit for 1 Volunteer hour
* For every $10 of Scrip donated to NSA (Amazon.com, Safeway, Office Depot, Staples, Home Depot, Lowe's) you will receive credit for 1 Volunteer hour
IMPORTANT: When donating Scrip to NSA, please be sure to indicate NSA Scrip Donation on the Scrip Order Confirmation Page that you submit to NSA. You should send your Scrip Order Confirmation Page with EACH order whether paying by check or Presto Pay.
